Ride: Former Sumas Substation on Old Yale Road Abbotsford - Stave Lake from Dam

Former Sumas Substation on Old Yale Road Abbotsford is now a residential mansion

BC Electric abandoned substations like these around 1950 after the Interurban New Westminster to Chilliwack lines were decommissioned in the late 1940s. The BC Electric Railroad began service around 1897 until 1958. See the history & 2021 real estate listing video for this converted residence in this BC Hydro article. Old Yale Road coming from the south & Maher Rd is dirt & deposits you in the side yard of the former power house & takes you right past the front door  then over the elevated train tracks & p/u Vye & Powerhouse Roads.
