Super Tenere 1200 ES: Anti-tip Over Side Stand Mod

Image
My 2014 ES S10 side stand has 2 issues that make it unstable, particularly if rear shock preload "Rider" or "Rider + Luggage" is selected (each of the 4 rear shock preload settings on the ES model results in noticeable change in static bike height, particularly after dismounting & unloading/removing luggage/gear:                                                                                                                                                 the bike was too upright & susceptible to tip over, except when the rear shock preload was set to "Rider + Passenger" or "Rider + Passenger + Luggage", which I seldom use, I mostly use rider + luggage).  This is exacerbated if a wider foot plate is added, which effectively lengthens the side stand.   the bike was susceptible to rolling forward off the side stand on any down hill sloping terrain         Both issues can be corrected via "minor" angle grinding of the cast mountin

Super Tenere 1200: 2" Rox Risers (2014+)

I added a few steps to the Altrider Instruction Video  that helped with obtaining maximum relaxation of the oem hydraulic lines & cables for gen 2 bikes which have re-positioned, rubber damped bar clamps up & back about 10mm, but use the same length cables as the gen 1 bikes. I made my own installation kit & modified the Altrider instructions by taking it a step further…(rubber hose clamps, fuel line, zip ties) Step #4: I used 1 or 2 sizes up for rubber cable clamp to allow more movement  Step #6 I used longer length of fuel line on clutch line + added fuel line to the brake line transition around the curve of the steering head on the right side (not part of instruction video) Step#8: reinstalling handlebars is not as simple as demonstrated because it is possible to not have the l & r riser square to each other beause they move independently…it took me a few tries to ensure the risers were square to each other & the bar grips sit in the same plane…i.e. not 1 grip f
