Tenere 700: Pivot Pegz MK 4 - T7 Rally Frame Plugs

Image
Pivot Pegz MK 4 vs OEM + Lowering Instructions (10 mm lower on diagonal, 3 mm back)   I had the 15 mm (0.6") shorter Mk 3 on my 2014 Super Tenere & really liked them, but wished for a little more length...of which the Mk delivers. They certainly felt different the 1st time mounting the bike because of the movement, but you quickly acclimate & they allow easier manipulation of shifter & brake levers, particularly with full height ADV/Endruro boots.  The wider platform feels more secure & distributes your weight more evenly. The advertised benefit of the design is to allow movement of the foot without having to lift off the peg & be less fatiguing for the rider featuring a spring loaded, self centering action...some like it, others do not...some have locked out the rear rotation, leaving just the front rotation...I have become very comfortable with the rotation & don't give it a second thought.  I find that the rotation of the pegs aids comfort, braking

Tenere 700: AXP Skid Plate - compatible with SW Motech Center Stand

Image
AXP Tenere 700 Skid Plate  is compatible with the SW Motech Center Stand  It is made from 8mm HDPE plastic  2.35 kg...added high density packing foam to all the mounting points & to protect the water pump & the left engine case.  It is a little wider at the front right side than comparable aluminum plates, but is one of the most full coverage skid plates available for the T7.    Water Pump, header & left case protection   A little work with a heat gun allows to tuck the upper right side in closer for improved clearance around the water pump & the left side angled away from rubbing on the motor case   Shock linkage protection     Side stand switch protection

Tenere 700: Camel Tail Tidy + Custom Fender Insert Incorporating OEM Reflectors to Improve Camel Tail Tidy Stiffness & Functionality

Camel Tail Tidy vs oem It's a fairly well sorted kit, but it can benefit from some mods to strengthen/stiffen it & improve tire spray to the passenger seat & tail area.   Camel Tail Tidy Installation Video Camel Tail Tidy installed   Custom Fender Insert Incorporating OEM Reflectors to Improve Camel Tail Tidy Stiffness & Functionality For use with  Camel Tail Tidy & Altrider , or Chinese copy,  Luggage Rack  with under fender support bracket. The Camel Tail Tidy is a minimalist design devoid of much fender functionality that could benefit from being stiffer to resist bobbing up/dn (have seen a few reports where it flexed so much that it caught the tire & taco'd up under the fender (Camel has since updated their design adding ribs welded to the bottom surfaces to strengthen) . I used 1/8" (3.3 mm) black arena board to make a custom fender insert that bolts to the 4 oem under fender attachment points of the Altrider Luggage rack or Yowling Chinese copy (

Tenere 700: SW Motech Center Stand - compatible with AXP Skid Plate

SW Motech side stand is compatible with the AXP skid plate.  Installation is simple, particularly with their proprietary adjustable spring tensioner, but is heavy at almost 4.5 kg or10 lb. Easy operation requiring the least amount of effort to deploy I've experienced + seems more resistant to rolling forward on downward slopes vs my Super Tenere 1200 stand 😀 Tweak to mounting order suggestion: The current order of installation for the 1st 2 parts on the left side should be reversed. The side stand stop tab (w/rubber bumper) bracket needs to be mounted to the left support bracket prior to installing it on the bike, although this would require the use of a vice or another method to hold the parts to allow for correct torque setting while tightening. This is because access to the front allen bolt for the stop tab bracket is impeded by the oem aluminum foot peg bracket, thereby being unable to set the correct torque setting. I also tried using a T handle allen wrench with 6” all
