Tenere 700: SW Motech Center Stand - compatible with AXP Skid Plate

SW Motech side stand is compatible with the AXP skid plate.

Installation is simple, particularly with their proprietary adjustable spring tensioner, but is heavy at almost 4.5 kg or10 lb. Easy operation requiring the least amount of effort to deploy I've experienced + seems more resistant to rolling forward on downward slopes vs my Super Tenere 1200 stand 😀

Tweak to mounting order suggestion: The current order of installation for the 1st 2 parts on the left side should be reversed. The side stand stop tab (w/rubber bumper) bracket needs to be mounted to the left support bracket prior to installing it on the bike, although this would require the use of a vice or another method to hold the parts to allow for correct torque setting while tightening. This is because access to the front allen bolt for the stop tab bracket is impeded by the oem aluminum foot peg bracket, thereby being unable to set the correct torque setting. I also tried using a T handle allen wrench with 6” allen but it would not seat squarely in the allen bolt as well because of interference with the oem foot peg bracket. Having the 2 parts pre-assembled does not affect installation of the left support bracket as full access is available to position the part & the 2 mounting bolts regardless.

Note:  Removed the 5 mm spring tensioner spacer to stiffen the spring...the stand bounced more than I liked or rougher roads & would not automatically pop all the way up if the stand was pushed down to meet the ground.  Not sure if this is indicative of all SW Motech T7 center stands but my particular stand is not completely level when deployed causing the bike to have a slight lean to the left vs being level.  If weight is an issue the newly available Altrider Aluminum center stand is approximately 1/2 the weight of the oem & SW Motech at 2.6Kg  or 5.7lbs total weight (OEM weighs 11lbs, competition weighs 8-10lbs).

The left side stand arm acts as a brush guard for the chain & chain guide

Note: confirm that all components are included/weld on prior to assembly. The 1st center stand I received was missing the welded on mounting tab for the adjustable spring assembly...very odd!
