Super Tenere 1200: Tires - Rear Tire Clearance
OEM Bridgestone Battlewing 501/502: 14,373 km f & R with some tread left, front wore uneven & cupped, good on pavement, benefitted from airing down to mid 20 psi front, high 20s psi rear on fsrs
Mitas Savatech MC60 GetaWay 2016: r = 10,410 km, f = 15,401 km): very good 50/50 tire on & off road, Mitas bought Sava & stopped production just after Rawhyde Adventure became the USA distributor...they now use the Mitas EO-7+
Shinko 804/805 2018: currently r = 11,373 km 4.5 mm remaining @ center, f = 6,365 km 6.8 mm remaining at center: value leader, surprisingly good/capable overall performer on/off road & wet, front gives up a little in loose, mucky dirt/mud, a little noisy
Mitas E-10 DAKAR 110/80 19 front (never mounted, a friend with KTM 990 said they provided improved performance off-road vs the Shinko 804 & lasted >6k kms) & Motoz Tractionator GPS 150/70 17 rear (mounted just before selling bike, had increased knobby tire feel at slower speeds vs Shinko 805 when ridden straight up, smoothed out as soon as leaned over, rated as best performing high mileage 50/50 tire in the 2020 Chapmoto ADV Tire Shootout)
Rear Tire Clearance
There is ONLY 8 mm or 5/16" clearance between my 150/70 17 Shinko 805 rear tire that measures exactly 150 mm or 5.9" wide at the side tread block @ 33 psi with bike on the center stand & the rear brake torque control arm...use caution when fitting a tire that measures > 150 mm
